Officer Michael Gentry began his law enforcement career in 1990. He began as a reserve officer with the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office, later going full time. Altogether, he worked there nearly 24 years before becoming a Patrolman at Reno Police Department in March of 2014. He is certified by the State of Texas as a Master Peace Officer and has over 2000 hours of training and continuing education with TCLEOSE and TCOLE. Michael is experienced in criminal investigations, civil process service, accident investigations, traffic law, investigation of child abuse, dealing with individuals in need of mental evaluations, and many other duties involved in the job of a police officer. He is a certified Field Training Officer and Breath Test Operator. Michael looks forward to assisting the citizens of Reno, Texas.
